If you have at one time or another wanted to register a domain name, I probably don't have to tell you what a confusing and frustrating mess the process can be. If in the past you've used any of the many domain registrars whose names I probably don't need to reference, you know that half the battle is navigating through all the noise on their websites when you just want to buy or transfer a domain name. It seems like a perpetual page upon page of up-sell efforts before you are finally allowed to click the "submit order" button. Then, after actually purchasing the domain, comes the inevitable frustration associated with trying to manage it. If you are simply human and not some sort of super-geek, this is when you'll start pulling your hair out!
Along comes Hover.com to the rescue. I was turned on to them several months ago and have found their service to be a breath of fresh air and have moved all of my domains there. Its dead simple....visit the site, a couple of clicks, and done. Here's one of the best parts: domain privacy, which you definitely want in order to help combat spam, is included, no up-sell there either. Finally, the only services they sell beyond domain registration or transfer of an existing domain, is email… if you need it.
